With owning a staffing company in this economy my husband and I sure have had our share of continuous ups and downs. Just recently I have been told that we are in a very serious financial sensitive time of the business. Immediately worries and doubts came flooding my mind. I saw myself slumping into a depression and I was full of worry and anxiety. Yuck. I find it interesting now after reviewing my reaction how I found it so difficult to pray, sing, contact others to pray, and to simply walk in victory. But these are the things we NEED to do! These are our weapons! I finally contacted my friends and I immediately received a response. The email was packed full of God’s truth, encouragement, and love. I IMMEDIATELY felt such a difference. I thank God for the friends he has given me. They are precious treasures.
Proverbs 12:25 "An anxious heart weighs a man down, but a kind word cheers him up." 1 John 4:18 There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear, because fear has to do with punishment. The one who fears is not made perfect in love. I learned that when it’s most difficult to pray that it is exactly at that time that I need to be praying. When it’s hard to sing; I need to listen to some praise and worship, when it’s hard to call my friends; I really need to have them beside me, and when it seems like it’s hard to walk in victory; I need to read God’s word because it holds the TRUTH and is such a mighty and powerful weapon. Now, I don’t know what is going to happen with our business but I do know that God is in control. When we are going through times of struggles and trials—what do we need to do? Go to God. Pray, take every thought captive, and believe in God’s power, promises, and victory! Call up your friends, there is power in prayer, and ask them to help you do battle. We belong to God so we must be willing to surrender our fears, anxieties, and worries. This is unconditional surrender and obedience to what God commands us to do. Sometimes we get so caught up in the situation and drama that we may be holding on to things that are really harming us. Hebrew’s 4:12 (Word of God) For the word of God is living and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword; it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart. Psalm 55:16-18 (Prayer) But I call to God, and the Lord saves me. Evening, morning and noon I cry out in distress, and he hears my voice. He ransoms me unharmed from the battle waged against me, even though many oppose me. Let’s make it a habit to take every thought captive! Instead of that *sigh* let’s replace it with “Hallelujah!” Do you experience anxiety? Do you need a friend to talk to? Would you like prayer? Let’s fight this battle together my friend! Contact us today! Psalm 121:1-2" I lift up my eyes to the hills— where does my help come from? My help comes from the LORD, the Maker of heaven and earth."
